Hebrews 3:1-2 “Therefore holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest, whom we confess. He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.”
\nOur God is a missionary. God can work independently, but works in cooperation with His people for the coming of His kingdom and for the accomplishment of His will, (Ex. 3:7-10) The writer of the Book of Hebrews wrote, \u201cTherefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.\u201d(Heb. 3:1) The Apostle Peter also wrote \u201cBut you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God\u2019s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.\u201d (1 Pet. 2:9) God has called and is calling both men and women and clergy and lay people to work for the kingdom of God.
\nGod gives authority and power to His servants as he calls them for mission. (Gen. 12:1-13; Matt. 10:1; 28:18-20) Therefore, people of God, who are called by God to do his will, ought to believe that God is faithful, is with them, protects them, and provides for all their needs. What God requires of those who are called for the kingdom of God and gospel is faithfulness.
\nJesus was Faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house. They accomplished the mission God entrusted in them. \u201cMoses did everything just as the Lord commanded him\u201d (Ex. 40:16). Jesus confessed, \u201cI have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.\u201d (John 17:4). How could Moses and Jesus successfully accomplish their mission God gave them to do? It was through prayer and obedience.
\nMark Chapter 1 verse 35 says, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Intimate fellowship with God through prayer was the secret of successful ministry.
\nWithout discerning God\u2019s will for our ministries, we cannot faithfully accomplish the mission God called us to do. True reformation, successful training of missionaries for the ministry in the creative access countries, successful support-raising, missiological research, and mission education cannot be done in the ways that pleases God. As we start a new year, let us remember that our God is a missionary God, that we are called to do His will, that he who called us for mission will provide resources, that we are required to be faithful, and that we can be faithful when we keep intimate fellowship with the Lord.<\/p>\n
